Below is some of our most recent major work that has been completed within the last 2 years.
We are very fortunate to not only have supportive customers but to also have developed excellent relationships with a vast range of OEM's and specialist service providers who have all contributed to our successful projects and growing business.
Pasta Cooking Upgrade
The client required a significant upgrade in their capacity to cook a range of pasta's, rice and other carbohydrates. Evaluation of solutions lead to the procurement of a 1.35T/hour CQC which also required significant building work and design of chilled water, steam, return condensate and compressed air services. We successfully turnkey managed the project completing all of the installation works outside of manufacturing operating hours.
Soup & Sauce Cooking
A very complex project requiring internal building works to create an additional space for two 2T cooking Kettles. the complexity increased as this was required to completed within an operating facility. Combined with major building works and significant upgrades and additions to the site services for steam, return condensate, hot water and CIP chemicals, our detailed design process and engagement with experts allowed the successful installation and commissioning of the complete system.
Bakery Recovery
Our client suffered a catastrophic incident causing significant damage to both production lines resulting in large losses. We were very proud to be engaged to provide trades resources and our project management skills and experience in baking enabling the swift return to production on one production line. Working closely with the OEM"S, numerous trade disciplines and the clients broader project team we drove the project to meet the targeted timelines.
Bulk Retail Mince
Critical to the Clients growth strategy was introducing a bulk retail mince product into their existing facility that operates 24/7.
Developing a detailed design in conjunction with work process flows, site services, production supply chain for new materials led to an early delivery of this project. a very well planned and communicated project in a complex operating environment. All of the work was completed in planned non-operating hours for the cut in and fit out of additional services such as compressed air, vacuum, food grade gases and electrical. Installation pre-work allowed for ease of installation and de-risking impact to existing operations.
Tray Sealing Installations
Over the past two years we have completed numerous Tray Sealing Installations. This includes MAP, VacGas, Skin Tray Sealers and Thermoformers.
All of these installations have their different challenges and in some instances, require significant services upgrades in the form of vacuum pumps, compressed air and power. We have proven that our detailed design approach creates accurate budgeting at the CAPEX stage, project planning and above all securing increasingly difficult qualified and experienced tradespeople.
Breakthrough Hygiene & Santitation
A big part of the industry in which we work is hygiene and sanitation. The use of harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning are reactive processes that have safety, environmental and equipment reliability impacts that are continually increasing in cost and energy to manage.
Over the past three years we have been working with Australia's leading laboratories and manufacturers to validate this active (always working) and safe technology to remove bacteria (listeria) and moulds. Contact us by clicking on the PANDARA artwork to go to our webpage and learn more.
We have numerous examples where this has been rolled out and operating in commercial environments.
Yeast Delivery & Chilling
Chilled yeast is a must have in a large baking operation and executing this for a bakery with multiple lines is challenging in enough without adding in the complexity of completing the work whilst maintaining a 7-day operation. This project delivered an increase in storage, can feed two ring mains independently and complete isolated CIP's independently as well as an upgraded chilling package.
Manufacturing Performance Monitoring
There is a well-known saying within the Operations world, "If you can't measure it, you can't improve it".
For one of our clients, one of their key operational strategies was to make a significant OEE step change and quickly. We embarked on a "30 day" Risk Free trial with our partner OFS and within 3 days were on a journey towards digitisation.
Engineering & Maintenance Management
EnMass Engineering was established in 2020 to support the Engineering Management and Maintenance improvement service that M&A provide.
EnMass Engineering is positioned as service provider and not labour hire. Our view is that if a customer is investing in maintenance, then there should be some benefit attached to this for them.
In some scenarios to create change, we have, under a performance-based contract, provide a full Engineering Management Function and once the team established, the team transitions to the client. This has been hugely successful.
The main objectives and deliverables were:

Accountability - empower team members to obtain real time feedback and insights.

One Team - streamline productivity objectives by creating a single source of truth.

Performance Improvements - present and analysis of real-time, live data in the factory.

Time Saving - eliminate double handling of manual data (day after the events)

Proactive - provide schedulers with tools to enable JIT planning data.
With the results from the trial, the results were outstanding, and Capital was approved to implement the system for the entire site. We led the implementation of the technical solution, meeting room interactive monitors, on production floor live displays and the engagement and training of all staff. The site very quickly started to break records being able to understand and effect the areas of lost availability and downtime.
